Using direct object pronouns is very similar to using relexive verbs. The difference is tha instead of using the reflexifive part (i.e. me, se, nos) to represent an action being done to a person (i.e. washing myself), the direct pronoun is used to indicate an object (i.e. me invito, He invited me)
The direct object pronouns are;
1) me- me
2) lo, le- him, you (singular masculine)
*Note- if you can say “to him, or for him”[ i.e. Le hable, I spoke to him] you use le.
3) la, le- her, you (singular feminine)
*Note- if you can say “to her, or for her”[ i.e. Le hable, I spoke to her] you use le.
4) Nos- us
5) Los, Les- them, you (plural masculine)
*Note- if you can say “to them, or for them”[ i.e. Les hable, I spoke to them] you use les.
6) Las, Les- them, you (plural feminine)
*Note- if you can say “to them, or for them”[ i.e. Les hable, I spoke to them] you use les

Examples:
Lo invito. He invited him.
Las invito. He invited them (the women).
Me invito. He invited me.
La invite. I invited her.
Nos invito. He invited us.

Le hable. I spoke to him.
Le hable. I spoke to her.
Le escribi. I wrote to her.
Les escribio. He wrote to them.
Nos escribio. He wrote to us.

Objects

In a nutshell, objects (nouns i.e. shoes) can be explained as “it” or “them”. For, example, Lo quiero (I want it).
Objects:
1) lo- masculine nouns
2) la- feminine nouns
3) los- masculine plural
4) las- feminine plural

Examples:
Lo quiero. I want it (i.e. el libro, the book).
La quieres? Do you want it (i.e. la libertad, the freedom)?
Los di. I gave them (i.e. los libros, the books).
Las di. I gave them (i.e. las revistas, the magazines)

Using Both the Direct and Indirect Object Pronouns

Examples are the easiest way to explain.
Examples:
1) Me lo dio. He gave it to me.
2) Me la dio. He gave it to me.
3) Nos la dio. He gave it to us.

***Note***
If the objects and pronouns are used in combination, the le, la, los, las = becomes se.
Examples:
Se lo di. I gave it to him. To say le lo di is incorrect.
Se la di. I gave it to him.
Se la di. I gave it to her.
Se lo escribo. I wrote it for her.
Se la escribio. He wrote it for her.

REFLEXIVE VERBS

In most cases, reflexive verbs are used to explain an action that is being to a person. For example, in Spanish, to say I wash myself is “me llavo”. The reflexive part (i.e. me-myself, se-yourself, himself, herself, te- yourself, nos- ourselves, se-themselves, yourselves [plural]) can procede the verb in all different tenses. But, the reflexive verb follows the verb when the verb is in the infinitive (i.e. llavarse, to wash yourself). Most reflexive verbs are made from verbs with the same meaning , such as llavar, to wash.
The reflexive part can be placed before or after a verb in the future tense. For example, Me voy a pesar, or, Voy a pesarme.
To make a reflexive verb, think to yourself if you can do the action to yourself, such as wash yourself (llavarse), sit yourself down (sentarse), behave yourself (portarse), etc.
The words that indicate the action are;
1) me: myself
2) te: yourself (use for a familiar person)
3) se: yourself (informal)
4) nos: ourselves
5) se : themselves, yourselves
To make life simple, you can always place the reflexive part in front of the verb. Note, the when two verbs are used, such as saying “I am washing myself”, the reflexive part (i.e. me, se, te, nos) goes in front of the other verb as well, (i.e. Me estoy llavando, I am washing myself). Another example is the future tense, “I am going to wash myself”, “Me voy a llavar”. One more example is “I was washing myself” which could be translated as (Me estaba llavando).

EXAMPLES:
Present Tense:
Examples
Te llavas. You wash yourself.
Se llava. He washes himself.

        Gustar- To like
This verb is a special case because the verb is assigned to what you like. An example is the easiest way to explain this. For example, when you say, “ They like”, it is spelled “ellos gustan”. Notice the an ending is the plural. Well, when you say, “they like it”, it is spelled “Les gusta”. Notices that the ending is just a.

With gustar, “le” replaces the se that the other reflexive verbs use for he, she, and it. And “les” replaces the “se” that the other reflexive verbs use.
